ABOUT THE SILO
The SILO is situated in a quiet valley on a working free range beef farm in Creighton , KZN , South Africa. We wanted to create something special and unique. We converted this old 12m high grain silo into a 4 level , 6 sleeper house. Surrounding The SILO you can spot 2 dams, where you can swim and do some bass fishing. {bring your canoe} The bird life is incredible , you can spot the Secretary bird, blue cranes, Eagle owls, Barn Owls, Fish Eagle, Wood hoopoe , Ground Hornbill to name a few. You could also spot some antelope like the common & mountain reedbuck, oribi, bushbuck and Duiker. Early evenings you will hear the calls of the jackal and even see one. even with possible sightings of Brown Hyena , Aardwolf and Aardvark.
The SILO is completely self sufficient, it has solar power and a fresh spring supplying water to the silo. [Water can be murky at times , we suggest bringing your own drinking water].
The road to THE SILO is bumpy and rocky and muddy at times. we do recommend a 4x4 vehicle to be used when coming to stay.
N.B!!! WE DO NOT HAVE A TRACTOR TO COME PULL YOU OUT !!!
The Silo has steep stairs that can be challenging for little ones - Please watch little ones with great care, not recommended to bring toddlers under the age of 5 years old.
